Win work
Relationship-driven business development in Toolblocks—prospects, contacts, accounts, events, and signals.
Overview
Win work is the pursuit side of Toolblocks: finding good-fit firms and people, keeping your network current, planning events, and acting when something changes—before a formal RFP. The goal is fewer context switches and clearer next steps while relationships are still warm.
How the surfaces fit together
| Surface | Job it does | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Find and qualify prospects | Search firms by market, size, and location | When you need net-new targets beyond referrals |
| Contacts | People and organizations, strength, categories | Daily relationship work |
| Accounts | Strategic targets—coverage, warmth, next steps | Team plan; pursuit rooms per firm |
| Events and shortlists | Conference strategy and who to meet | Before and after high-cost travel |
| Signals | Timely reasons to engage | When you want “why now” prompts |
| Competitors | Firms you meet competitively | Team plan with a Revenue seat |
A typical weekly loop
Midweek: Open account detail or event detail before calls; run research on contacts when you need sources.
Friday: Clear follow-up reminders, update connection strength, and move shortlist members into tasks.
Capture contacts in the workspace
Most teams start in Contacts—add people manually, import LinkedIn connections, or import a CSV. Connect LinkedIn or Google Workspace in Settings → Integrations when you want enrichment and mail context in the app.
Win work vs delivery work
| Area | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| Win work (this guide) | Who should we pursue, why now, and what is our next BD action? |
| Run projects (pipeline, tasks) | How do we deliver work we already won? |
Many firms use both; they are separate loops.
Plan notes
| Capability | Typical requirement |
|---|---|
| Accounts workspace | Team plan or trial |
| Competitors | Team plan with a Revenue seat (trial counts as Revenue) |
| Contact enrichment | Pooled credits on Team; credits and AI usage |
| Events | See Events overview |
Toolblocks reduces non-billable BD drag; it does not replace professional judgment. AI outputs and enrichment are draft for review.
