Connection strength
Auto-derived relationship warmth from email, meetings, and LinkedIn activity.
Overview
Connection strength is a team-visible signal for how warm a relationship is—not a lead score. Toolblocks calculates it from touch history so you can sort who deserves proactive outreach versus who needs re-warming.
Strength appears on people and organizations. For people, it updates when interactions sync or when you log activity. For organizations, it rolls up from linked people; you can also set it manually on an account when needed.
How strength is calculated (people)
The product looks at the most recent of these touches:
- Last email (when Google Workspace email is connected and synced)
- Last meeting (calendar sync)
- Last LinkedIn message (LinkedIn integration)
It also considers LinkedIn connection status (connected raises the floor but does not replace real email or meeting history).
| Recent activity | Typical strength |
|---|---|
| Email and meeting both within 7 days | Very strong |
| Any touch within 7 days, or any touch within 30 days | Good |
| Most recent touch within 90 days | Weak |
| No recorded touches | Very weak |
| LinkedIn connected only (no recent email/meeting/DM) | At least weak |
| LinkedIn connected and both email and meeting on file | At least good (even if those touches are older) |
Logged manual interactions and LinkedIn activity can move strength without waiting for a full mailbox sync.
Organizations
Account-level strength is derived from the strongest interaction signals among people at that firm (last email and last meeting roll up from the team). You can override connection strength on an organization in the detail panel when judgment differs from the rollup.
Keep strength accurate
Connect Google Workspace (email and calendar) and run interaction sync from BD review when you want last-email and last-meeting dates refreshed.
Connect LinkedIn so DMs and connection status stay current where supported.
Review last email, last meeting, and strength together in the Contacts table—if dates look stale, sync again before trusting the badge.
Filter by strength before weekly BD standups to prioritize very strong and good ties, and re-warm weak or very weak contacts when a signal gives you a reason.
Strength on people is not a manual rating field in the table—it is recomputed from activity. Follow-up reminders can use a separate tier override for cadence; that does not change the displayed connection strength column.
